SUPERJOINT premiere video for "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application"
Last Friday, SUPERJOINT unleashed the debauched fruit of their "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" full-length. Their first proper studio offering in over a decade, the thirty-eight-minute punisher spews forth an acrimonious crossover of hardcore punk, metal, and uncompromising, antagonistic, New Orleans-style angst. In celebration of its release, today the band has undraped the official new video for its title track. Watch the video below.
Initially revealed for the first time at SUPERJOINT's special record release show this past Saturday at Gas Monkey Live! in Dallas, Texas, "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" was captured at various locations in Louisiana including the historic district of Old Kenner, the Blue Nile in New Orleans, and the Housecore compound. The clip was directed by Kate Richardson courtesy of Housecore Records, and shot and edited by Mike Holderbeast with production by Carolyn Babauta.
SUPERJOINT's Philip H. Anselmo elaborates cryptically, "The video is supposed to be as ridiculously abstract as the song itself. But regardless, it makes its ridiculous point(s) dreadfully well."
Produced by SUPERJOINT co-founder Philip H. Anselmo (Down, Pantera, Scour, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Arson Anthem, etc.) and Stephen Berrigan (Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod, Haarp, Classhole, etc.) and mastered by Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer) at Visceral Sounds, "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" remains true to SUPERJOINT's original strategy: to spew forth an acrimonious crossover of hardcore punk, metal, and unrelenting, hostile, New Orleans-style angst.
